We are saddened at the news of the passing of Mrs. Alice Carey, who supported our organization and the health and well being of all animals. Our hearts are heavy at her passing, but her spirit will live on with us for eternity.
Please check our News page for upcoming events! Take a look at this link below for a summary of 2015 -- pictures of happiness tells the best stories of all!
We also have a wishlist set up on Amazon. You will see items we are always in need of. This is an amazing way for us to meet our costs of operation - so thanks in advance for supporting the furry kids!
All costs associated with this website are donated by Peg DeMarco.
Much love to Julie Whitis/Artivational for interviewing some of us and our adopters and crafting this video. Special thanks to David Cortello for composing the original score "Esperanza".

A Better Life Animal Rescue, Inc. is a no-kill foster home-based rescue organization located in Burke County, North Carolina.
We do not operate an animal shelter. We rely on volunteer foster families to provide temporary care for rescued
dogs and cats until they can either be matched with loving, responsible, permanent adoptive families or until lost
pets can be reunited with their own loving families.
Thank you also to a private foundation that continues to bless our organization with very generous grants.
We are also very grateful for a generous grant we received from the Pedigree Foundation.
This will help us in our meeting veterinary costs.
