We would like to express our enormous gratitude for all the community support received for the first annual "Hair of The Dog" Half Marathon, Relay, 5k, and 1 Mile. The event, a fundraiser held on November 18th, was our first attempt at a race, and we are very pleased at what a success it was. One of the most amazing things that stuck out to us was the camaraderie between athletes.
Special thank you to Angela and Jonathan with Shores Multisport for your guidance; to the race committee for all your hard work; two special volunteers, Ruth and Nikki, for all of your efforts; to City of Morganton Parks and Recreation; and to the many committed volunteers who showed up on race day to help keep it organized!
To all of our sponsors who made it possible: Bowman's Sunrise Appliance; Rivers Edge Physical Therapy; Silver Fork Winery; Appalachian Wood; Workout Anytime; Catawba Valley Brewing; Papa Johns; Bowers Nationwide; Mountain View Pediatrics; Bryan Jones, Attorney; Diversified Glass; Mountain View Editing; Burke Primary Care; Betty and David Connelly; and Fleet Feet of Asheville.
To all the businesses who contributed prizes and support items: AJ's Steakhouse; Body Therapy; Hwy 55; Maria's Italian Eatery; Fonta Flora; Friday Friends; ;The Pie Hole; The Nook Homebrew and Tavern; Abeles; Jules Photography; The Grind; and TD Bank.
Thank you also to the News Herald and Jonelle Bobak for the article published to help spread the word.
We look forward to planning Hair of The Dog again in 2018. Input and ideas on how to make next year's event even better are welcome and can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
With full hearts,
A Better Life Animal Rescue
